Milky Way

The Milky Way is a galaxy in which the most adventures and actions of Star Trek are executed. It has the form of a spiral and is a so-called Barred spiral galaxy which consists of hundreds of billions of stars. It has a diameter of about 90.000-120.000 ly and a halo of about 170.000-200,000 ly.

It consists out of four quadrants:

• Beta Quadrant
• Gamma Quadrant
